TD Ameritrade responded that it was “investigating intermittent points with the web site presently.”

TD Ameritrade’s account quickly responded: “Hi there, we’re sorry for any confusion. There’s a identified problem with the TDA subsequent gen web site. You could be accessing the basic model of our web site at the moment, which may have a special look and residential display.”

Downdetector, which tracks technical points with web sites, posted a chart exhibiting a spike in outages for TD Ameritrade beginning about 8 a.m. ET. Roughly 77% of issues have been tied to the web site and 18% to login points at 10 a.m.

In the meantime, a number of Twitter posts indicated traders had issues with orders on Thinkorswim. At 10:45 a.m., the TD Ameritrade Twitter account posted that the agency was working to revive full performance to the TD Ameritrade web site and to Thinkorswim, and gave a quantity for additional help.

And Thinkorswim tweeted at 11:23 a.m.: “Hi there. We did briefly have experiences of some purchasers not seeing energetic orders on tos. This problem was rapidly resolved, and when you have an order you’d like reviewed please simply give us a name.”

“No orders working for me on TOS. Needed to open my telephone and shut order on cell app. Even then the wheel spun for a few minute,” one person tweeted round 11 a.m. About 20 minutes later, that Twitter account posted that Thinkorswim was “working usually once more.”

One self-described choices dealer tweeted: “Pissed. @TDAmeritrade and @thinkorswim ate at my revenue at the moment due to failed/delayed executions and an absolute Energetic Dealer nightmare. Unacceptable.”
